This modern day branch line in North East England stretches from the market town of Bishop Auckland to Darlington, with its East Coast Main Line station, and is part of the famous Stockton and Darlington Railway which opened in 1825. It also features the 'Prince of Wales' Shildon tunnel, which opened in 1842; at three quarters of a mile in length, it is the oldest working railway tunnel under a settlement in the world. The route includes several key sections, including the Locomotion Railway Museum at Shildon which houses quite a large number of steam and diesel locomotives as well as numerous old freight wagons.Bishop Auckland to Darlington lets you drive numerous locomotives. As well as the default Class 166s, you can drive the Class 153 DMU which is available as a separate download from the Just Trains website. Northern Rail liveries are supplied for both of these classes. You can also choose to drive any of the steam or diesel locomotives which are housed at the Shildon Locomotion Railway Museum.
